Some people deliberately choose to use gender-neutral pronouns in order not to disclose a person’s gender and thus avoid gender bias.

• them (“that Pride Flag belongs to them”);
• their (“their sense of style is remarkable”);
• theirs (“that Pride Flag is theirs”);
• themself/theirself (“Jay danced by themself/theirself”).
